Blue Agave Restaurant: Authentic Mexican Dining Experience in Ventura

Visited once before and everything was lovely! I went again for Valentine’s Day and received excellent service, delicious food and there was live mariachi! Love this place :)

We really love this restaurant because two of their dishes are amazing! We always get the Molcajete and the Mole Enchiladas. The Molcajete is plenty for two people, and the mole sauce on the enchiladas is the best I've ever tried.

One of the best places to go for Mexican food in Ventura County. Margaritas are amazing, great atmosphere doesn't get any better!

Solid 4.5 star experience. Good margaritas, I actually like the house margarita more than their perfect margarita. Taco Ensalada was good although chicken was slightly overcooked. Chicken paella was excellent. Generous portions and very good chips and salsa. Outside patio had a nice ambience. Interior decor had a cool Mexican vibe as well.

We just had an event here celebrating out daughters baptism. Rodger has been making this even stress free and literally what we expected. Not just the restaurant itself but the staff, quality of food and drink and can’t explain how outstanding is the staff! Beyond friendly and seems like they love their work atmosphere. Cleanliness of the location is great. Parking on the weekends can be a bit of a struggle due to tavern next door but you can find parking a block away which is not bad. The venue was beyond cute. We are defenitely looking forward to more future events here

Anyone who rates this gem off the beaten path, anything less than a 5+, is clueless. The service, quality of food, atmosphere, and presentation are of 5-star restaurant quality. Homemade authentic sauces you just don't get today. Tequelas you can't find anymore, and a selection only the finest Mexican restaurants can offer at local down-home prices.

My wife and I were visiting family in Ventura and they took us to this restaurant for dinner. We live in Michigan and we do have Mexican restaurants, but none of them serve Mexican food as good as this place. Everything we had here was great. The staff are very friendly and helpful, some don’t speak English but they will find someone who does speak English to answer any questions. They brought some nachos and salsa to the table as soon as we were seated. My wife asked them if they had any hotter salsa and they brought a third salsa out that looked like a nacho cheese dip. My wife was eating it and really enjoying it because she said it was actually HOT. One of our family members came in after work and sat down and took a big amount of the hot salsa onto a chip and ate it. His face lit up like he was going to explode and he started chugging water. He said he thought that was a cheese dip and said that’s the hottest salsa he ever had. We ordered House Margarita’s, Taquitos, Street Tacos, Organic Lentil Soup and Enchiladas Suizas and everything was excellent. I highly recommend this place and would eat here again and try something else on their menu the next time we are in Ventura. None of us had a single complaint about this place. Just a friendly warning that if you ask for a hotter salsa, they will give you the hottest salsa you have probably ever had.

We finally stopped in for dinner before going to live music at Namba. It was the perfect addition to the evening. My wife and I ordered the side order size of the roasted vegetables and quinoa salad. Also the Ceviche app. That was all delicious and more food than we could finish. So it was an inexpensive dinner for this area. Our server was very nice.
